With Halloween over for another year, we’ve mostly been playing light-hearted, casual games as a palette cleanser after all the spookiness. Here’s what we’ve been playing this week:
What I’m Playing
Inspector Waffles
- Playing on Nintendo Switch
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing Inspector Waffles. It’s a retro-style point-and-click detective adventure with a killer soundtrack and cat puns aplenty.
At around 4 hours in length, it didn’t overstay it’s welcome and it was easy to pick up and play casually in handheld. You can check out our full review here.
Airborne Kingdom
- Playing on Nintendo Switch
Originally releasing on PC last year, Airborne Kingdom is coming to Switch next week so we’ve been putting the strategy city builder to the test. We can’t say anything more just yet, but we’ll be posting our review a day before it’s release date (9th November) so stay tuned!
Islanders
- Playing on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatability
Islanders is a super-chill, minimalist city builder game with great visuals and addictive gameplay. You earn points by strategically placing buildings on a procedurally generated island. Get enough points and you progress to the next island.
With colourful visuals and relaxing sound design, Islanders is great for a casual game or two.
