Seriously, where is this year going? It’s almost November and I still have so many games I need to play. Here’s a taster of what I’ve been getting stuck into this week.
What I’m Playing
Outlast
- Playing on PS5 via backwards compatibility
Oh boy. With the spooky season almost here, I’ve been getting into the Halloween spirit (pun definitely intended) by delving into a great survival horror game, Outlast. I’m not usually one to scare very easily but this game has led to a couple of close calls in the underwear changing department. For an eight-year old game, it still looks pretty damn good. The atmosphere it creates through using your night-vision camera is incredibly tense. You truly feel helpless when running and hiding from the horrors that inhabit the mental asylum.
It’s also an absolute steal at a mere £3.09/$3.99 in the PlayStation Store Halloween sale. If you want to check this and other great bargains out, take a look at our list of the Top 10 Horror games in the PlayStation Halloween sale.
Inspector Waffles
- Playing on Nintendo Switch
I’m having fun with this point-and-click whodunit from indie dev Goloso Games. Playing as the titular detective, you poke at the dark underbelly of Cat Town through finding clues and solving mysteries. With a Noir jazz soundtrack and many, many cat puns, this could be one to add to the list. I’ll be posting a full review here on Monday so make sure you keep an eye out!
Röki
- Playing on PlayStation 5
I can’t say much about this game at the moment as it’s being released tomorrow but you can read our full review on Thursday 28th October at 10:00 AM BST/2:00 AM PT right here at Average Joe Gaming.
